The Port of Nanaimo Centre is home to both the Vancouver Island Convention Centre and the Nanaimo Museum.  It is a 2-storey mixed-use conference centre, auditorium, retail  and museum shell space and 2 levels of underground parking.  The development is a significant addition to Nanaimo as it will promote commerce and industry on Vancouver Island.   Open for business in June 2008, the building also consists of lobbies, ballrooms, meeting rooms and offices.
