The Woodward's Redevelopment Project is the hallmark of the City of Vancouver's revitalization efforts of the Downtown Eastside. Henriquez Partners Architects' design highlights include the restoration of the 1903 - 1908 heritage building that is the new location of community non-profit space, a childcare centre and urban park and plaza areas that are accessible to the public. Woodward's is also the new framework for developing affordable housing. The Abbott and W Towers consist of 566 market suites featuring decorative doors, open-concept floor plans with 4 colour schemes and spectaular views of the city. Amenity space features rooftop gardens, an inside/outside kitchen, pool tables, hot tubs and large exercise room complete with a climbing wall. The Hereitage building consists of 6 storeys of commercial offices that are occupied by the City of Vancouver. There is a daycare featured on the top floor. The Hastings Building located above the SFU School of Contemporary Arts consists of 125 non-market, single residents units (SRO) built for Portland Affordable Housing.
