The building was built on top of the existing transit station which was originally designed to support three levels of wood-framed construction above only. To mitigate this structural limitation, floor slabs above were cantilevered from the building's core concrete, and no structural elements or support bear on or were added to the transit station. The station remained fully operational during construction. |
